Malala Yousafzai

Female Education Activist and Nobel Prize Winner

Born in 1997, Malala Yousafzai grew up in the Swat Valley in Northern Pakistan with her parents and two brothers. From the age of 10, Malala has campaigned for the rights of girls to receive an education. In October 2012, the then 15-yearold Malala was shot by the Taliban while traveling home from school on the bus with her friends. Following the attack, Malala was flown to Birmingham to receive treatment at the specialist Queen Elizabeth hospital, and by March 2013 she had made a remarkable recovery and was well enough to return to school. Now studying at the University of Oxford, Malala continues to campaign for the right of every child to go to school. Since the attack, she has become internationally known for her courage in refusing to be silenced and continuing her fight for the right of everyone to receive an education.

Malala’s bravery and unwavering dedication to her cause has seen her honored throughout the world, including one of the world’s highest honors: the Nobel Peace Prize. She became the youngest recipient of the prestigious award in 2014, alongside Indian child rights campaigner Kailash Satyarthi. Following the outpouring of support that Malala received throughout her ordeal, she set up an international fund – the Malala Fund – which is dedicated to help promote education for girls throughout the world.

Since the beginning of my career, I have worked hard, on the ground, collaborating with people to find solutions. I never backed down before a challenge. I decided to run for municipal office in 2013 because I knew I could make an actual difference in the daily lives of the people I met across the city. The passion and the determination that push me, I inherited them from my dad, an Abitibi businessman with whom I traveled across Quebec and who built his business from scratch.

Geneviève Grandbois

Founder

Svens Telemaque ranks as one of the most apt and impacting speakers touching youth empowerment and anti-bullying today. After multiple arrests, various feats with death, a failed kidnap attempt, several funerals and the deportation of close friends it finally dawned oh him, it was a time for a change. Following his acquittal for gun possession, he abandoned familiarity and a life of drug trafficking in order to start anew. His compelling story does not idolize a troublesome past but an impressive journey into a promising future. Now an author, and speaker. Svens has empowered thousands of youth with his youth empowerment tour “Broken Crayons Still Color”.

Through the powerful account of his story Svens is able to reach others by relating first hand to their struggles with identity crisis, low self esteem, peer pressure, bullying in addition to the hardships that seem to show no prejudice across different social barriers around the world.

He leads lives towards change, and challenges others to color their communities, society and ultimately the world with their greatness.

John Edward Gumbley is a foundational pillar in Montreal’s nightlife and hospitality scene. His successes are numerous and despite his age, his business conquests already span decades. From Kokino to Orchid, Rouge to Muzique (just to name a few) and most recently the infamous Bord’Elle Boutique Bar and Eatery you will be hard pressed to find another individual in Montreal to have attained a higher level of accomplishments in his fields.

Incredibly John started his business career as a teenager with absolutely nothing in his favour. His father passed away when he was only six years old and he was left to tend to a mother that was not only blind, but deaf. His journey, which started with a household monthly income of 500$, blossomed into numerous businesses which have grossed hundreds of millions of dollars to date and the best is yet to come. His newest project, a luxury boutique hotel encompassing a supper club, spa and cocktail bar is already in the works and if previous experience dictates, the hospitality scene in Montreal will once again, level up.

Steve Daniel

Digital Marketer and
Content Creator

27 years old dream chaser and adventurer, I love trying new things and pursue different projects. In 2015, I started getting my own footprint on social media and created MTLPromos, an Instagram that showcases the culture and the lifestyle of Montreal. Since that day, nothing has been the same. I learn and discover about my city everyday and this helped me to understand the concept of social media better and I now take care of over 20 different clients.

I officially quitted my day job in November 2016 to be a freelancer and I can now truly say that I love the life I live. I work hard to play hard, I travel and I love food.

Now working on a new professional social media called Swishlinks, I am always open to connect and network with new people.
